- ALCANAR -

The city of Alcanar is located 200 km to the south of Barcelona in the Catalan coast, in the Eastern Mediterranean, between the Mt Ranges of Montsią and the Bay of Els Alfacs, in the delta of Ebre, between Ulldecona, La Rąpita and Vinarņs. Their main populated areas are: the city of Alcanar and the Maritim District of Les Cases d“Alcanar.

In addition, along 14 km of coast there are several suburbs and Camping sites. But the main activity of Alcanar is the growing of citrus fruits, the orange, the mandarin and orange tree nursery. This way, the district conserves all its identity and it has become the first producer of citrus fruits of Catalonia.
In this area, consisting of 42 km squared, there is a population of 8000.

The beach is one of the main tourist attractions of Alcanar.
In the maritime district there is a port with many water sports available.
Also the iberic site of La Moleta del Remei is open to the public, inhabited by the ibers from century VII b.c to II b.c.
Also the cistern of the Vall, 1600, and several buildings of great architectal beauty, like the O'Connor house, the Renaissance church or the tower of the muslim are open to the public.
