- GIJON - With a surface of 181.7 km2 the Council of Gijón is located, practically, in the center of the Asturian coast, is bordered by the councils of Carreño, Corvera, Llanera, Siero, Sariego and Villaviciosa and between 43º2''30 "and 43º34''18" of 8 52 North latitude and 1º '' 29 "and 2º '' 0" of west longitude of the meridian of Madrid.
